The Key Word Code is based on a word agreed upon in advance between the coders. Play is the key word for this cipher. To develop the code, you write the key word and then the rest of the alphabet leaving out the letters in the key word. The key word can be as short or as long you want it to be, but it can’t have any duplicate letters in it. See the diagram below where Play is the key word.
