The Snail Code gets its name from how it is arranged. The code starts in the middle and wraps around in a circle until the code is finished. For example, the first word in this cipher is ‘Jesus’ and it looks like this:
S
X
J
U
S
E
Felix told you to start the cipher at the X. If you wanted to make the cipher more difficult to solve, don’t tell people where to start. Then ‘Jesus’ would look like this.
J
E
S
S
U
The message may not fit into the grid evenly, so add a null character at the end – like the exclamation point at the end of this message.
You can take away the grid lines and the code is even more difficult to solve.
