In honor of the Fourth of July, Felix is sending you proverbs about Freedom this month. Freedom doesn’t mean doing anything you want. Felix is going to help you understand what freedom really means.

Snail Code
The Snail Code gets its name from how it is arranged. The code starts in the middle and wraps around in a circle until the code is finished. For example, the first word in this cipher is ‘There’ and it looks like this
E
X
T
R
E
H
Felix told you to start the cipher at the X. If you wanted to make the cipher more difficult, don’t tell people where to start. Then ‘There’ would look like this.
T
H
E
R
E
The message may not fit into the grid evenly, so add a null character at the end – like the two O’s at the end of this message.
You can take away the grid lines and the code is even more difficult to solve.
The solution to this week’s cipher:
There can be no real freedom without the freedom to fail. ~ Eric Hoffer
